Epictetus Coaching is a coaching platform dedicated to supporting executives and leaders, executive committees and boards of directors.

Tanguy Cathelain

Tanguy Cathelain has held senior and executive positions, alternating responsibilities in the private and public sectors.
During the last seven years, Tanguy has supported executives and leaders, both in the private and public sectors. He has helped them improving their leadership and operational performance or succeeding a professional transition.
Tanguy is Doctor in Industrial Engineering.
He graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris, Sciences Po Paris and HEC Paris.
He is certified TMA Expert by GHM and Executive Coach certified by Visconti Coaching School.

Who is Epictetus Coaching for?


The support we offer is aimed at any leader or manager, regardless of his or her economic sector. They can be leaders and executives of large groups, small and medium-sized businesses, associations or the public sector as well as entrepreneurs.

The coaching meets the following needs of the leader:

    How is a coaching?


    Individual or collective accompaniment takes place according to an approach including:

    • A framing interview whose purpose is to set clearly the objectives of the support, its duration and the timing of the workshops,
    • Workshops generally comprising two times: work on an operational problem and work on the fundamentals of the profession; At the end of each workshop, a report is sent by the coach to the coachee within 48 hours (working days).
      In general, a workshop every fortnight.
      Each workshop lasts two to three hours.
    • Work to be done by the coachee between the workshops
    • a report at the end of coaching realized in a contradictory way between the coach and the coachee.
    The workshops can take place:
    • in the company of the coachee
    • in a neutral place, outside the company
    • in remote connection (Skype)

    What is your code of ethics?


    Four principles guide the coach / coachee relationship:

    • Confidentiality : the coach agrees not to disclose confidential information provided by the coachee on his personal situation or on the understanding of the operation of the company he manages.
    • Respect for others The coach agrees to accompany the leader in his step back, in his questioning and in the construction of his own choices. The coach does not interfere with the choices and decisions of the coachee.
    • Hindsight : To avoid any risk of transfer, the coach undertakes to take the necessary distance vis-à-vis the person he accompanies. For this purpose, the coach is himself supervised by another coach.
    • Transparency The coach / coachee relationship is governed by a written contract describing the support provided to meet the needs of the coachee.

    How is the return on investment measured?


    The return on investment can be appreciated on three levels:
    • The leader passes a step on the mastery of a very operational problem : he unlocks a complex situation, he decides on a social plan, he builds a new business plan, he masters his executive committee, he works on new basis with the board of directors ...
    • The manager works on the development of his company in the medium term : he revises his strategic plan, he consolidates the vision of the company, he validates a new social policy, he sets up a strategic partnership ...
    • The manager improves the basis of his job : he knows how to better manage his priorities and his time, he clarifies his professional objectives, he can delegate ...

    How long is a coaching?


    A coaching  is an investment ofa minimum of three months one workshop every two weeks.

    In order for the leader to truly take a course and improve his fundamentals sustainably and deeply, work usually takes six to nine months
